Our central act of worship is Holy Communion; a sharing together in bread and wine at which we believe the risen Christ is present with us. “For Christians, to share in Holy Communion means to live as people who know that they are always guests – that they have been welcomed and that they are wanted.” (Rowan Williams) ‘Open your mouth and taste, open your eyes and see how good God is. Blessed are you who run to him’ Psalm 34:8 Sunday 21 December - 4th Sunday of Advent Old Testament Reading - Isaiah 7: 10-16 Gospel Reading:- Matthew 1: 18-end |
We value the best of the Anglican tradition - a balance of Scripture, Tradition, Reason and beautiful music from a mixed, versatile robed choir and talented organist
During term time, on the first Sunday of each month Junior church is held for our younger friends.
On the third Sunday we celebrate ‘Renew’ – an All-Age Eucharist partly led by our young people.

'Fork Handles' at AdventEach year we light a candle on each of the four weeks of Advent. Candles are important symbols in many religions, and for Christians, they remind us of Jesus, the light of the world and the hope he comes to bring to us, especially in the midst of a dark time. There are different traditions about the meaning of each candle, but at St Andrew’s we follow the traditional interpretation which is said to go back to the 9th century.
