Welcome

Welcome to St Andrew’s Church. Together, we strive to be a joyful, daring, diverse and generous Christian presence here in Coulsdon.

The illuminated cross on our tower is a famous landmark, reminding us that the light of Christ ever present; to guide, comfort, inspire and to challenge.

We believe that good preaching and good music are essential elements to worship. Our Parish Communion service is held each Sunday at 9.45 am and last for about an hour.

‘You are the light of the world. A city built on a hill cannot be hidden.’

Matthew 5:14

On the first Sunday of each month during term time Junior church is held for our younger friends. On the third Sunday we celebrate ‘Renew’ – an All-Age Eucharist partly led by our young people.

A simple said Communion service is celebrated on the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays in the Lady Chapel.
At 7.30 pm on the first and third Wednesdays of the month we share a time of Celtic Evening Prayer and Lectio Divina respectively on Zoom.

Please contact Reader Gerry Daley for more details.

All are welcome to share worship with us. We look forward to welcoming you – and we do a decent cuppa after the service too!

Sundays at St Andrew's

There is plenty going on at St. Andrew’s, but worship on Sundays is special.

Our Sunday Eucharist takes place at 9.45am.  Our central act of worship is Holy Communion; a sharing together in bread and wine at which we believe the risen Christ is present with us.
“For Christians, to share in Holy Communion means to live as people who know that they are always guests – that they have been welcomed and that they are wanted.” (Rowan Williams)

Weddings, Baptisms & Funerals

St Andrew’s is a place of celebration and care for those happy events like weddings and baptisms, and a place of comfort and support for those looking for hope and practical assistance during the difficult seasons of life.  Remembering that “nothing can separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus” (Romans 8:38-39) is often easier done together, as part of a family – the church family – to which we all belong.
